Some simple strategies for pre fishing Lake Okeechobee when targeting bass for a tournament. I’ll be fishing the RMMC tournament on Lake Okeechobee in a couple weeks so here are a couple ways I get started pre fishing when I can’t be on the water looking for bass. 2 awesome resources are Google Maps and Water Level graphs. They can tell you a whole bunch about the lake before you even start fishing it. Especially for guys like us that work during the week, getting a jump start on pre fishing and tournament prep is huge and all it takes is an internet connection and a computer!

Fishing for bass on the weekend – especially on a popular river – means you’re going to have to deal with jet skis and total douche bags on the water. Still think it’s CRAZY how this jet ski cut me off running full wake thru a back water area – NOT SAFE!!!!!! That said we caught some bass targeting a local river in a high pressure period with a bunch of leisure boaters out. Goes to show fish will bite all the time just have work for it. Revealed a few fun techniques and tips here to focus on when heading to a local river to fish for bass!

This is an insane camera array for bass fishing and it’s going to give crazy angles in a simple setup. Yolotek POWERStick, POWERStation, and DBarrel all set up with a GoPro camera. This gives me a mobile platform to get angles on fishing all over the boat no holds barred. Perfect for fishing trips and telling you what’s happening fishing for bass here in Florida and all over. Did I mention it gets some great fishing aerial shots. Capture all t he tips and techniques with this camera setup and I’m just getting started!

The new Bass Boat is getting some final touches and I made the best decision yet mounting Transducer Shield brackets for my trolling motor and transom Lowrance transducers. There’s also a bonus install of the Grass Deflector and Grass Shredder. We walk through how to install the Transducer Shield accessories I purchased for the new bass boat. Just trying to make this thing as perfect as I can possibly afford and these graph brackets are the best mounts available for my transducer mounts.

Crush some late spawning bass with this pattern fishing Lake Okeechobee or just about anywhere. We run thru a day of fishing for bass on the Big O targeting late spawning fish with a crazy jig and stick bait rig as well as a chatterbait in super shallow water. These are some fishing tips and techniques you can use fishing in spring for bass staging and spawning in and around shallow heavy cover. And we got to do a subscriber meetup with James who is fishing a high school fishing tournament on Lake Okeechobee!

Finnaly fishing for bass and popping the cherry on the new bass boat rig! Such a huge day and the fishing cooperated. This time of year fishing can be a little spotty but swing head jigs, stick baits, jigs and a little bit of neko rigging did the trick getting bites. Florida fishing is about to get super good – epic good – as these fish settle in to pre summer patterns. So stoked and thankful to have this rig and pop the cherry on one of my favorite lakes with some solid bass!

It’s the final fishing tournament with the old bass boat before we move all the gear and graphs to the new Triton fishing rig! Fished a super clear lake with my good buddy Charlie who is a stick out there! Different format tournament than your standard fishing derby – got to sleep in and rig rods in the morning . Had time to shoot some video about the rigs we’re using out there too and what catches fish in super clear water situations during the transition between spawn to post spawn. But all in all it’s the final voyage with the old fishing boat. She will be missed but change is good! Can’t wait to get the new girl out there and break her in with some giant bass!

My boy and subscriber Brent catches a ridiculous PB out bass fishing with me – it’s THE ONE! This was a SUBSCRIBER trip test fishing for bass and it turned out insane! Could not of asked for perfect day, Brent scored a PB – personal best – and we caught it all on video. Aside from the huge bass we were also able to make a ton of catches on my new favorite finesse tackle – the Ned Rig. If the PB was ridiculous for it’s size, the numbers of bass we caught was equally epic. These schools of fish can be moody but when they are set up in such a concentrated pod once you figure out the right lures and presentation it’s game on for catching a ton of fish. Kind of a crazy day too as we had a front gradually passing through and it actually ended up colder at the end of the day then when we first got to the lake. The low pressure system didn’t hurt us and probably triggered a bit of a feeding frenzy for the bass as well.
