Went to the lake with my friend @dizzythedangler to do some frog and fall heavy grass fishing. But the punching and flipping bite in the grass was on and I will never fish a frog when I can catch them on a flipping rod.
Want the fishing rods, soft plastic lures, fishing line and all the other angler gear in the vid?
There are a few fishing lures that I have supreme confidence in when fishing for 10 pound plus bass on some of the trophy fishing lakes in Florida. They are big reaction style baits – a magnum crankbait, a magnum spoon, and a custom swimbait. I’ve had more success catching monster bass on these baits than almost any other reaction style fishing lures. We got though some tips to fishing them, why these lures catch big bass, and some of my favorite fishing video clips using these lures out on the lake. What’s your go to lure for catching monster bass?
Are you sick of your basic fishing lures and tackle costing way too much? I figured out the cheapest way to go jig fishing with high quality super customized jigs and it’s an easy DIY Mod from Tackle Warehouse. Pick your jigs, head style, weight, then get the skirt making kit we talked about in a prior video and make your own custom skirts – no one else will have the same jig as you and you’ll be amazed how much more confidence you fish your jig with.
We also do an unboxing of new Tackle Warehouse baits I picked up for late summer and fall frog fishing and grass fishing out on the lake. I’m excited to learn more about jigs going into fall fishing – it’s the perfect time to try out this technique as well as have a shot at catching some big bass on them.
Drop a comment and tell me your favorite lure pick or a tip about that lure for the Bass Attitude shirt!!!
When you take big risks you get big rewards!! This is the most dangerous bass fishing on the planet, putting a big tungsten weight with a heavy action fishing rod under a mat can be totally + WORTH IT!!! Jacob Wall (FLW PRO) and I go to Lake Guntersville and flip mats and cast chattterbaits for big bass. Fishing heavy cover is worth it when it produces big fish and it did today we walk thru tip and techniques for targeting bass in late summer and fall – where, why, and how to find insane fishing in heavy vegetation and cover.
The late summer and fall flipping punching bite is here and I need a new punching rod for fishing heavy cover for bass. So I asked my buddy Walt who is an expert fishing rod builder at Halo what he would recommend and what my bud JT Kenney uses for catching big fish in heavy cover. We are also doing a road trip to Wisconsin to fish for smallmouth and largemouth bass so I needed some other technique specific fishing rods to throw tubes and finesse fishing lures for finicky ultra clear water bass up north.
If there is one fishing technique I love it’s flipping and punching heavy cover for bass. And right now on Lake Guntersville the mats are stacked with bass to target with heavy Hawg Tech tungsten weights, a heavy action fishing rod, and big braid. You can do it too by targeting matted vegetation on your home lake or body of water, all you need to do is find vegetation that makes a canopy for bass to live under. We go through how to catch fish in heavy cover late summer though fall and you’re going to love they way they bite !!!
Catching fish punching mats in Florida is one of the most epic techniques to catch big bass during the winter and spring. Punching is probably one of my favorite ways to catch fish due to the heavy grass and intensity of the bit and the fight! This is punching heavy grass unplugged following the YouTuber vs Pro challenge with Glenn Browne and former NFL player Ellis. Just some #realfishing footage with a solid tips and techniques recap that should help you catch more fish in 2019 when you target and flip heavy grass.
The key pattern was targeting points and corners where fish were stacked up but tentative to bite until they were triggered by pumping the lure under the mat or suspending it.
This was a great highlight for the Gambler #GearUp PUNCHING ESSENTIALS box featuring Glenn’s picks of the must have punching lures when fishing heavy vegetation https://bit.ly/2se5jAt
