Want to catch bass in the summer heat!!?!? In this vid we reveal summer fishing tips on Lake Guntersville for catching big bass in clear water out deep ledge fishing. We walk through step by step with tips and techniques as well of the ledge fishing process – how to find fish out deep using your contour map and sonar, what fish look like on the Lowrance HDS LIVE, and various techniques for catching bass in deeper clear water. Two main lures really showed off – a wobble head jig and a mag ned rig jig with a large stick bait. I’m all about revealing the real fishing process and showing what the pros don’t always want you to know and that’s what we do right here in regards to summer fishing and specifically ledge fishing for deep water big bass.

I picked out some of my favorite early winter bass fishing lures for fishing as the water starts to get cold and fish turn to their prespawn and winter patterns. Choice baits this time of year are hardbaits such as jigs, crankbaits, Red Eye Shad style trap lures – however swimbaits still play a big roll I have some super unique micro swimbaits to share with you. A rigs or umbrella rigs are also a big deal on lakes like Chickamauga, Guntersville, and any lake that is shad focused. The new Gambler Goat Locked Up Swimbait Head is perfect for a rig and we review it. Just remember, the best part about this time of year is if you brave the winter weather and put your time in bass fishing these cold water conditions can produce some of the biggest fish of the year – there is a real opportunity for an angler to catch a PB or trophy bass.

I can honestly say the first 5 casts with my fishing rod this morning cost me $3000. I made a horrible mistake out fishing the lake after I caught a bass on a jig, I nearly broke down in tears. Chatterbaits catch bass – so how do you make the perfect custom chatterbait? In this vid I show you how to build a chatterbait with just a couple tackle components from Tackle Warehouse. The D&M Custom Baits Pirahna is the first bladed swim jig I fished and it has a slightly different movement and vibration than a Z Man Evergreen or Jackhammer. If you’re fishing a lake that gets a lot of blade bait pressure, this is a diy build you need to try fishing.

There is no doubt in my mind the Shimano Curado 200e is and was the best fishing reel ever made. These days I pair it with my heavy cover fishing rods for frog fishing, punching, flipping and anything that involves braided fishing line. These are basically antique fishing reels but they’ve held up to catching fish so awesomely well that I just can’t see myself replacing them. They do need a little TLC from time to time when I’m not on the water and I think a mouse got to my reel handle on my punching rod setup so I needed to replace it. I opted for a Hawg Tech handle over a standard Shimano replacement because my buddy makes them, they look pretty epic (matching my fishing rod), and they last longer than the one’s Shimano sells after market. We do a quick reel handle repair in this video and you can see how simple it is to swap out any standard reel handle with a new one as well as take a look at a giant fish catch using my technique specific cranking handle.

The late summer and fall flipping punching bite is here and I need a new punching rod for fishing heavy cover for bass.
