The ONLY Lure You Need to CATCH BASS ~ It’s CHEATING!!!

There is only one lure you need to catch bass in spring and honestly the way it triggers fish it’s like cheating!!! The Ned Rig is one of the best fishing lures for a couple reasons – it catches small fish and giant bass but also any angler can fish it from a beginner to an expert angler. It’s a finesse style technique that catches all species of bass and especially in late spring fishing a Ned Rig is just like cheating because the fish can’t resist it! I rig my ned rig jig with a small soft plastic worm stickbait that I cut down – a Gambler Ace and it’s tough to beat a color like green pumpkin. Since the water was not super clear and we were fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass I used some chartreuse dip on the tail as well.

Want to catch bass in the summer heat!!?!? In this vid we reveal summer fishing tips on Lake Guntersville for catching big bass in clear water out deep ledge fishing. We walk through step by step with tips and techniques as well of the ledge fishing process – how to find fish out deep using your contour map and sonar, what fish look like on the Lowrance HDS LIVE, and various techniques for catching bass in deeper clear water. Two main lures really showed off – a wobble head jig and a mag ned rig jig with a large stick bait. I’m all about revealing the real fishing process and showing what the pros don’t always want you to know and that’s what we do right here in regards to summer fishing and specifically ledge fishing for deep water big bass.

I love exploring tackle shops in the U.S. so we stopped at Hammond’s Fishing Center on Lake Lanier and did a walk thru. This tackle shop is crazy – it looks like a log cabin and is piled high with fishing lures, fishing rods, and even crazy epic live bait tanks with Herring, Minnows and more!!!! Tim owns Hammonds and he’s a good friend so he tooks some time to walk us through the shop and tell us a bit about fishing Lake Lanier, spotted bass, largemouth bass, and local custom swimbaits that I thought were crazy cool!

I love to fish for bass on any lake with a gigantic crankbait. There’s a variety of fishing lures out there that dive deep and draw an epic reaction from fish when it goes by – and these things are pretty large, many weigh over 1 ounce. The trick is however you never know how a fishing lure will work until you actually get it out on the lake to fish for bass. There are few techniques for bass fishing in summer that I love as much as this one. The NEKO RIG has caught me so man fish in the hot summer months it’s INSANE. It’s such a simple technique and basically allows you to deliver a wacky rigged fishing lure at depths bass normally don’t see such a rig. The other reason I love this technique is it catches small fish up to mondo huge bass! It’s perfect for clear to moderately stained water and in most situations should be fished where you find open hard bottom. Not a lure you want to throw into heavy cover but more geared for targeting pods or schools of fish setup on offshore structure. We break down the 3 soft plastic baits I use, the terminal tackle, how to set up the Neko Rig, and what types of fishing rods work best to fish the Neko Rig.
