I love to fish for bass on any lake with a gigantic crankbait. There’s a variety of fishing lures out there that dive deep and draw an epic reaction from fish when it goes by – and these things are pretty large, many weigh over 1 ounce. The trick is however you never know how a fishing lure will work until you actually get it out on the lake to fish for bass. What we’re going to try to do here is go through a review and break down of the #realfishing features of each one of these gigantic crankbaits – how they really fish wne you get them underwater and which ones I absolutely LOVE!

We all have rigs and fishing lures that we believe in and and always have tied up. My confidence fishing rig shows off in this video – the Mag Ned Rig and the Neko Rig are standards whenever I get on the lake. I have caught a lot of big fish as well as numbers of bass fishing these rigs and that really leads me to having the confidence that I can get a bite on them on any body of water – lake, ultra clear water, river – even outside Florida. The are both especially good fishing techniques for winter fishing down here in Florida when pre spawn bass feed to move up to spawn.

Now that we’re back in Florida we took an adventure to the Gambler Lures warehouse and broke in to steal some fishing lures and finally caught up with Val and asked him some questions about where the swimbait design came from and what got him in to fishing and Gambler Lures in the first place.

Now that we’re in Florida we’ll be shooting a bunch of vids on Lake Okeechobee, Lake Kissimee, maybe Stick Marsh and all the deep water fisheries. Winter is the best time of year to fish Florida because bass are staging up to spawn and eating a ton!!!! Not to mention winter temps in the mid 70’s. If we get a warm spell we may even be able to do some sight fishing!!!!

Is it worth it to buy the most expensive jerk bait fishing lure? The answer is yes. The Megabass Vision jerk baits are INSANE! On this clear water fishing trip to the lake I used them to target bass that were schooling on shad and suspending in ultra clear water and caught my biggest fish on the Vision 110! I throw it on a 7′ fishing rod with a moderate action made for crank bait fishing and use 12lbs flourocarbon fishing line. The lures are no doubt crazy expensive but imo totally worth it in the way they draw bites from fish that just don’t seem to be interested in any other fishing lure or jerk bait.

Funniest part of the day is I had to go on a polar swimming adventure because my bass boat drifted away from the boat ramp – water temp was a freezing winter 52!!!!! Always make sure you tie up your boat – don’t just rely on Power Poles!!!

I always thought I hated shady anglers and bass fishermen that threw shade all over the place. Come to find out in fact I’m shady and I love to throw shade when I’m using my C-Map on lakes. So I just started fishing these lakes and I’m looking for any way to be more efficient and practical with my search for fish. In this video we use a custom shading tool on my C-Map lake maps to do some depth shading in order to identify the most productive water for fishing on different kinds of lakes. this process also helps when navigating your bass boat on a new lake as well as highlighting differences in depths and changes through contrasting colors and custom palettes that work best for you. We caught a MASSIVE blue crab fishing in Florida for bass and it wanted to fight. My best friend used a net to trap the crab as it swam right down the middle of a Miami canal. I have no idea why it was there or what it was doing. The Atlantic Ocean is not too far away but for a blue crab to travel that far is amazing!

This is the vlog of my peacock bass fishing trip with my best friend to Miami – the one of the only place in the whole U.S where you can catch exotic species like the Peacock Bass. We targeted fish sight fishing with small swimbaits as well as using topwater poppers which ended up being the key to getting bigger bites.

This is one technique I love for tournament fishing on Lake Okeechobee. We just fished bass fishing tournament and we had a one in a million clutch finish! By the end of the day we won a 2nd place finish against some of the best anglers on the lake. The Roland Martin Marine Series is the biggest fishing tournament on the lake and a first place finish in that derby is huge. The last few events we’ve struggled and our tournament finishes have not been what we were hoping for – but that’s why I love this lake. It’s so dynamic the bass fishing can absolutely go off in a matter of minutes!
