This bass is insanely huge – fishing for bass with crankbaits, a great winter fishing technique, this fish runs me nearly out of fishing line but I barely land here and call my buddy to show off because she’s that BIG! As far as fishing techniques are concerned using reaction baits during cold water fishing periods is one of the only ways to get them to bite – especially huge bass like this. For some reason when water temps drop into the 60’s it’s tough to catch big fish on most soft plastics. This is a great example of adapting to the conditions and targeting less but bigger bass to come up with a trophy fish in late winter/early spring in Florida!

Fishing for bass targeting a PB in the Florida winter cold can be insanely epic when you have the fish honed in to a pattern! Took fellow YouTuber Benjamin Nowak to the lake for a few days while he was down from Michigan to target huge pre spawn largemouth bass. We had some trials and we had some travails and hands down this was our craziest day captured all on video! We lay out a few fishing tips and techniques for what to do when faced with a grind day of fishing and it all pays off in the end with Benjamin catching his personal best bass on a crankbait right after locating a school of giant fish on the sonar!

Punching heavy cover flipping mats on Lake Kissimmee fishing for bass. This is winter fishing in Florida as bass move to stage and spawn while it’s snowing in the rest of the country. Thick grass like hydrilla, hyacinth, and pennywort attract huge bass this time of year and I love using the fishing technique of punching to target them on lakes like Kissimeee, Lake Okeechobee, and other shallow Florida natural lakes. This is part 2 of a crazy day catching a lot of fish including a near 7lbs bass even though fish seemed to be in a negative mood.

Weather was partly sunny lows in the 60’s highs in the mid 70’s. Fish are in a winter staging pattern moving up to spawn when the moon and the weather get right.

Best day of fishing for bass EVER – the most epic 5 fish limit I’ve ever caught in my entire life out fishing! Breaking 40lbs out on the lake is a milestone and I got it all on video! Fishing conditions were horrible which make them perfect for insane days like this. Frontal, rainy, cloudy weather set up these bass where I’ve never seen them before. We took water over the front of the boat but every minute was worth it to hit that 40lbs achievement! This is the best time of year to be fishing for bass in Florida! Another insane day on the lake using crankbaits to draw reaction strikes from fish including a massive 9lbs trophy catch and another over 7lbs. Absolutely epic bites either fishing lures super slow or turning to high speed power fishing techniques like a 10XD grinding on the bottom.

Weather was key as yet again cloudy conditions and a front made fish more active with wind creating current throughout the lake.

Fishing a tournament – mental game, pull out an epic trophy bass late in the day weighing over 8lbs; who doesn’t love fishing a bass tournament! No doubt it turned out pretty clutch. We caught a ton of fish using a wide range of techniques – drop shotting, longlining, Texas Rigged worm, spinnerbait,. Alabama Rig and a Neko Rig. Overall the bass were schooled up and fishing for them required using your graph to identify how the groups had shifted throughout the day. My worry was guys fishing spawning and pre-spawn fish in the grass – there had seemed to be a lot of big fish caught earlier in the week focusing on more traditional bass fishing techniques – topwater, flipping, sight fishing. However we focused on fishing for bass that were offshore staging to come in to spawn and it paid off with this crazy win!

Weather: morning lows in the lower 60’s, highs reaching the mid to upper 70’s; slight breeze in the P.M. and pretty much clear blue skies all day long.
