If you don’t do this with a chatterbait when fishing for bass, you might be missing out on catching fish. In this video we go over some chatterbait modifications, chatterbait tips, as well as some chatterbait techniques for catching bass in summer. We also talk about the best chatterbait trailers for fishing bladed jigs around cover and why this lure is probably the most important fishing lure of the last 15 years.
There is only one Chatterbait trailer you need for pre spawn bass fishing. The soft plastic Komodo acts like a swimbait, a creature bait, and a fluke style lure all in one when rigged up with a Chatterbait or Thunder Cricket. The tight action makes it perfect for pre spawn bass fishing as fish move up from winter to spawn. This is my bait review of the Gambler Lures Komodo.

Red is the hottest color in bass fishing especially during the pre spawn. Red chatterbaits, red lipless crankbaits, red squarebill crankbaits, even red spinnerbait lures are all over baits shops and on Tackle Warehouse. I got with my buddy and Lake Guntersville guide Myles Murray and asked him why do bass love red lures during the pre spawn?

In this fishing video we learn about the new Headwaters Lake and @JT Kenney Fishing shows us what happened to his hand after topwater fishing in an epic pond on the lake. Fishing so good it hurts!!! We learn how to fish a Whopper Plopper and a magnum spook and other fishing lures in and over the grass for giant bass. Top fishing lures: Whopper Plopper, chatterbait, and a Strike King magnum spook style bait. If you want to learn how to catch fish, what fishing lures catch bass, and how to fish them – fishing rods, fishing reels – subscribe for all the latest techniques and walk thrus.

Chatterbaits catch bass – so how do you make the perfect custom chatterbait? In this vid I show you how to build a chatterbait with just a couple tackle components from Tackle Warehouse. The D&M Custom Baits Pirahna is the first bladed swim jig I fished and it has a slightly different movement and vibration than a Z Man Evergreen or Jackhammer. If you’re fishing a lake that gets a lot of blade bait pressure, this is a diy build you need to try fishing.
How to fish a chatterbait? I use a 7’2″ MH Kryptonite fishing rod http://bit.ly/2YXZnKs and a 7:2:1 fishing reel. Depending on cover I’ll fish it on 40-50lbs braided fishing line or 18lbs flourocarbon http://bit.ly/2YjSLXd
Want to build your own custom chatterbait? Here are the fishing lure parts we used:
The Wisconsin road trip continues on the Madison Chanin of Lakes and if you don’t fish a chatterbait like this, I’m telling you you’re missing out. We fished grass like we were in Florida with a chatterbait using a ripping technique to trigger bass in submerged vegetation to come out and eat. It’s a really simple fishing technique and a great way to fish a lake very efficiently covering water and fishing around heavy cover. It’s also an epic way to catch them, they absolutely crush the lure when you rip it out of the grass like this and it draws a reaction from fish that inmost situations don’t want to eat. I also throw in a more sublte way to mimic a bluegill using a squarebill crankbait in the same situation.
I hung out with Jacob Wall (FLW FISHING PRO) and we talked about insane chatterbait tweaks and mods that anyone can do and we walk thru a discussion of different ways to tweak the lure, different colors to use and why when fishing for bass. How do you tweak your chatterbait? What kid of DIY mods do you do to catch more fish? Drop them down in the comments box!
When you take big risks you get big rewards!! This is the most dangerous bass fishing on the planet, putting a big tungsten weight with a heavy action fishing rod under a mat can be totally + WORTH IT!!! Jacob Wall (FLW PRO) and I go to Lake Guntersville and flip mats and cast chattterbaits for big bass. Fishing heavy cover is worth it when it produces big fish and it did today we walk thru tip and techniques for targeting bass in late summer and fall – where, why, and how to find insane fishing in heavy vegetation and cover.
This was one of the most unbelievable days fishing I’ve ever had. WE seriously saved her life by catching her choking on a giant carp on Lake Kissimmee! I was out with FLW Pro Tyler Woolcott and he snagged a fish with a trap fishing lure and it turned out she was choking on a fish she tried to eat. We saved her life by pulling the carp out of her mouth…serioulsy! I’ve only seen this twice before in all my fishing and each time the fish was choking on bream. I’ve never seen a fish eat something so big and seriously be on it’s way to other world. It’s suck a cool thing too, this fish was giant – all of 8-9lbs and without us catching her the way we did she would have never survived. I have spent a lot of time on the lake but I still run into some crazy things out on the water and this one was epic. Any time you can see a fish that big and play a role in saving her life is a good day on the lake, I can’t wait to see what our next adventure will bring
