Going full HOBO – I got the new fishing truck I wanted to find a deal on a bigger truck like a RAM 2500 and I wanted to be on the road homeless but literally feel at home sleeping in the truck. This is step 1 in the process of travel video road trip fishing! I originally wanted a Ford F-250 but price point (poverty LOL) and some other travel features drove me to the Ram 2500. It’s gonna be like living in a van – almost literally but the larger bed and some of the DIY tweaks I make along with adding a topper are going to make homeless road trip life feel pretty homey!

Insane STORM comes out of NOWHERE on the LAKE Fishing for BASS

Summer storms can be insane out on the lake bass fishing in Florida – and the worst part is they can come out of nowhere when the water has been flat with now wind all day! So be safe this time of year and watch the radar and keep an eye on the skies!

Another summer bass fishing vid and we focus on what lures and techniques to use when dealing with high sun and flat water. A couple semi finesse fishing tips that trigger bass to bite no matter how tough the conditions. We hang out with my friend Brent for a second time and end up with a pretty strong day catching a solid bag before the INSANE storm rolls in.

I LOVE this FISHING TECHNIQUE for Summer Bass

There are few techniques for bass fishing in summer that I love as much as this one. The NEKO RIG has caught me so man fish in the hot summer months it’s INSANE. It’s such a simple technique and basically allows you to deliver a wacky rigged fishing lure at depths bass normally don’t see such a rig. The other reason I love this technique is it catches small fish up to mondo huge bass! It’s perfect for clear to moderately stained water and in most situations should be fished where you find open hard bottom. Not a lure you want to throw into heavy cover but more geared for targeting pods or schools of fish setup on offshore structure. We break down the 3 soft plastic baits I use, the terminal tackle, how to set up the Neko Rig, and what types of fishing rods work best to fish the Neko Rig.

When I HATE to LOVE FISHING for Bass on Lake OKEECHOBEE

Bass Fishing such an emotional sport that you hate to love it sometimes. Lake Okeechobee fishing for bass can have you on the lowest low and keep you there – it’s why I love it but struggle not to hate it when you hit a dry spell. This is the first vid of a collabo with youtuber Bass Quest and his family who came down from Lake Chickamauga to do some Lake Okeechobee Florida fishing and enjoy some beach time in South Florida! We managed to tap into some shad spawn fish and had a flat out good time horsing around and causing some shenanigans! Stay tuned though – community and Karma come thru on the last day for an ultimate punching for bass session on Lake Okeechobee that was INSANE!

The ANGLER walk of SHAME

We’ve all been there strutting the angler walk of shame at the end of a hard fished tournament. It’s tough to swallow after having put in so much time and really committed to laying it all on the line – but that’s the reality of tournament fishing, especially on Lake Okeechobee. There’s no shame in losing – even badly if you’re able to reset as an angler and come back and fish again. And sometimes that’s all you can do – fish, fail, and get right back out there. The walk of shame is just a reminder of how humbling this sport can be and how mother nature is never predictable when it comes to fishing for bass.

Once again the topwater frog was a top fishing lure out here on Lake Okeechobee as well as punching with a jig and Mega Daddy combo or a 1/2oz. Hawgtech tungsten paired up with a bulk plastic bait.

NIGHTMARE tournament practice FROG fishing & PUNCHING Lake Okeechobee

The frog fishing bite has been on fire as well as punching but this tournament practice on Lake Okeechobee was a flat out nightmare. Nothing seemed to come together and when we did get a good fish to bite on the topwater frog or punching the grass it seemed like it was totally random. This is the game though, you put your time in, see what’s happening on the lake and hope that something will come together tournament day. No doubt though, with the amount of fishing time both me and Donny put in we were hoping to not be in such a nightmare scenario. With that said some of my favorite ways to catch bass on Lake Okeechobee are frogging and punching so who knows, maybe we can patch something together the day of the tournament out here!

This is CHEATING!!! FROG fishing LAKE OKEECHOBEE BASS tournament practice

It feels like cheating to catch bass on Lake Okeechobee with a topwater frog like this! I’m practicing for a big fishing tournament on the lake and this is the first of a few vids capturing the experience running up to tournament day. Pre fishing, looking for bass, testing lures, it’s all here and today was an insane start! The frog fishing was on fire! I even caught a HUGE bass on my modified mag ned rig casting to sticks and isolated cover in a super shallow bay on the lake. These are all just pieces of the puzzle for anglers and the process is about building confidence and executing on tournament day – catching the right bass to take away the win! Aside from all that tournament fishing provides a great sense of community and you get to meet the diversity of anglers on the water, learning throughout the entire process.

FISH made him BLEED Insane PUNCHING for BASS fishing LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Fishing for bass is a contact sport on Lake Okeechobee and sometimes you end up bleeding from injuries – especially when you punching for bass! Well that’s what happened to poor Bass Quest when grabbing a 7+lbs Lake Okeechobee bass that I had punched out of heavy cover and he ended up bleeding all over the place! In summer you can’t beat targeting heavy cover using the pitching technique to present fishing lures to fish setup in water around heavy cover. When it comes to fishing techniques it’s one of my favorite and it’s such an intensely INSANE way to catch fish on any lake.

Key fishing lures were a punching rig with a Hawg Tech Tungsten weight and a Gambler 4″ Flippn Tube paired up with a 5/0 Owner Hook.
